While waiting at the checkout line at the Kent WinCo the other day, my eyes wandered to the latest issue of Seattle Metropolitan magazine. Hot Breakfast Spots. Some of you may know that I've been going thru a French toast phase for the last couple months now. I'm obsessed with going out to breakfast just so I can get french toast. I prefer a French toast made of a thick slice of plain type of bread ( brioche, Texas toast, challah, etc...). No cinnamon, no stuff swirling in the bread. For me, French toasts are the best when smeared with butter and lightly drizzled with REAL maple syrup. None of that maple flavored high fructose corn syrup stuff. The January 2008 issue of Seattle Met featured 50 breakfast hot spots. As I read about all the different places, I began to think that it would be a fun thing to do for the new year to partake in each of the feautured restaurants. I'm crossing my fingers that most of them offer French toast.
So Judy Sam has set up a mission to go to each one of these 50 restaurants for breakfast by the end of 2008! And since my new years resolution is to be early, I'm heading out for breakfast on the last day of 2007.
Lets see how long it takes for me to get sick of French toast.

mmmm i love fake syrup! :) none of that REAL maple syrup stuff for me!
